Why hire a freelance designer?
Hiring a freelance web designer is often cheaper than going to an agency because they have less overheads. They are also usually more responsive as the client will always have direct contact with the freelance at all times. A Freelance Web Designer will usually specialise in a few different skillsets and can help you build whatever you are looking for from small brochure sites to full eCommerce builds.
Do you offer web hosting?
Yes, I can host your website for you. Generally this is preferable for most business owners, as it reduces the hassle for you. I offer very competetive hosting prices.
Do you offer domain names?
If you don’t already have a domain name (e.g. yourbusiness.co.uk or .com), I can help you to purchase it and get it connected to your website. If you already own one, I can manage the transfer to your site.
Can I update my own website?
Yes. During our initial consultation we’ll establish what parts of the website you want to be able to update. Before we launch, I’ll provide you with a log in and give a training session, so any parts of your site you want to be able to update yourself, you can.
Do you offer ongoing support?
Yes, generally some level on ongoing support is always required. We can discuss what level of support you’ll require and the associated costs in your initial free consultation.
My retainer packages start from £30/month for the basic package up to £120 for comprehensive ongoing support.
Can you update my existing site?
It depends. If you have a WordPress, Wix, Sqarespace or Shopify website already, I can likely help you to update it. However, if you’re looking to make major changes to your existing site, a fresh rebuild is usually the best approach.
How long does it take?
The time a new site build will take varies depending on the complexity of the project.
For simple sites, once you’ve provided all required content and materials for the site, I try to complete projects in 1-2 weeks.
For more complex sites involving functionality like ecommerce or booking systems, I will aim to complete them in 3-4 weeks once all content and material is provided.
Some processes such as domain transfers take time, so if this is required as part of your build it can lead to slighltly longer lead times.
How much does it cost?
After a free consultation, I will provide a quote for the full website build. It’s difficult to give estimates as it can vary so much depending on the project requirements.
A simple single page website can start from £300, while a basic e-commerce store can start from £1500
What is your payment schedule?
I typically split project payments in to two. 50% is paid upfront and the final 50% is paid when the site is complete and ready to go live.
Where are you based?
I’m based in Crystal Palace, SE19, and primarily work remotely from my home office. However, I’m happy to travel anywhere within London for meetings. Many of my clients are based in South London, including areas such as Crystal Palace, South Norwood, Sydenham, Dulwich, Honor Oak, and Herne Hill.
